Thyroid ultrasound

Thyroid ultrasound is a non-invasive examination that uses sound waves to create images of the thyroid gland. The patient lies on their back with their neck slightly extended. The doctor applies gel to the neck and examines the thyroid with a probe. The procedure takes 10–20 minutes and is painless.

It helps diagnose nodules, cysts, inflammation, gland enlargement, or other abnormalities and monitors conditions during thyroid disease treatment.
